My name is Eli, and I'm a web developer. This project is to enhance my skills by experimenting with new technologies and creating something fun!

Details:

For the frontend, I am using Framer, it's a web-building tool used by designers to create interactive websites. It combines a user-friendly visual interface with powerful coding capabilities, allowing designers to create complex interactions and animations.

My backend utilizes NodeJS, Express, and MongoDB (will be switching to Supabase in the future). I gather assets from various sources to build my own custom database of Pokémon and their cards.

This project stands out because it leverages Framer, a tool typically used for visually-striking static sites, in an innovative way. Its foundation in JavaScript React allows me to create custom code components and overrides, transforming static sites into dynamic web applications.

This approach not only saves me significant time but also simplifies UI maintenance for both myself and my clients. Combining Framer’s design capabilities with custom code results in a complete web application, showcasing the powerful, yet underutilized, potential of Framer in web development.

• Searching by text matches any Pokémon names

• Searching by National Pokédex Number pulls all variants of that Pokémon (except for #869, Alcremie, I still have to update the database, coming soon!)

• Shiny version toggle
